Musical Theatre Work/Study
Directors Paul Angelo and Andrew Bray (Creative Team behind PAMTA Award-winning student production of Les Miserables - 2008) will be leading a theatre camp for young people to explore acting and vocal technique, focusing on the work of famed Broadway composer/lyricist Jason Robert Brown.

For two weeks this summer, young actors will rehearse and study in a professional setting. Students will build their skills while working on current and exciting material. Emphasis will be on Character Development, Ensemble-Building, and combining the technical demands of Musical Theatre with the immediacy and urgency needed for contemporary theatre work.

Musical Theatre Work Study I: Ages 10-14
Dates: July 19-30, Monday thru Friday, plus Saturday, July 31.
Time: 10:00 am-1:00 pm daily Tuition: $250*

This session will focus on the Jason Robert Brown musical "13," which opened on Broadway in 2008, featuring an all-teen cast and rock band. This musical explores the ups and downs of growing up, making friends, and peer pressure.

Musical Theatre Work Study II: Ages 14-19
Dates: August 2-13, Monday thru Friday, plus Saturday, August 14.
Time: 10:00 am-1:00 pm daily Tuition: $250*

This session will focus on "Parade" by Jason Robert Brown. This Tony Award-winning musical tells the true story of murder, injustice, love, and a specific time in American history. It opened on Broadway in 1998.

All sessions will be held at ACTION ADVENTURE THEATRE in SE Portland 3311 SE 17th Ave.
