SESSION 1: June 20-July 1, Monday thru Friday
AM Session -- Musical Theatre Scene Study (int/adv. teens)
Directors of Staged!’s award winning Les Miserables, Paul Angelo and Andrew Bray , will workwith students in a class room setting on duets from contemporary musical theatre. This two week course will focus on creating immediacy within a sung scene, obstacles, tactics, beats and transitions all while singing beautifully! We will draw from a variety of modern musical theatre's best shows and most influential composers including Sondheim (Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park, Assassins), Jason Robert Brown (Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World), Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Children of Eden, Godspell, Pippin), and selections from Contemporary Musical Theater, such as Spring Awakenings, Rent, Les Miserables, JC Superstar, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and more…PM Session -- Jim Kirkwood Acting Intensive: "Conscious Preparation for an Unconscious Result" (int/adv. teens)
Acting Coach Andrew Bray will lead a group of serious pupils through exercises and tools developed over the past 50 years by Acting Legend Jim Kirkwood. A Special focus will be placed on the development of POSITIVE ENGERY, URGENCY, VULNERABILITY, and COMMUNION.
SESSION 2: July 11-15 (one week)

AM Session -- Musical Theatre Intensive for ages 8-11
This is the class for kids who would act, sing, and perform all day if they could! Students will work on vocal technique, acting, and learn some "best practices" for performing. We will learn scenes and songs from several of our favorite, most beloved shows: "Wicked," "The Lion King," "Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," and more! We will end the week with a performance to show parents and friends what we have learned. (Price $100)PM Session -- Sondheim Storytime Theatre Camp for ages 6-8
Each day we will use one of Stephen Sondheim's well-known and not-so-well-known musicals as a jumping-off point. We will dive into the story and the music, and create scenes together. This engaging, fun class focuses on storytelling and the joy of singing together. Our final class will include a presentation for parents and friends. (Price $100)

Saturdays in July: Introducing "Itsy Bitsy Sondheim" for Parents & Preschoolers, 10-11 am.
Contact Chanda for more information to get on the email list for this brand-new class rolling out in July. This 4-session class will involve parents & preschool-age children (ages 2-4) in hands-on exploration of the works of one of musical theatre's "greats," Stephen Sondheim (Into the Woods, West Side Story, Company). We will paint, sing, dance, and dive into some amazing music. For parents who love the theatre, and their children...who will listen!

SESSION 3: August 1-12, Monday thru Friday
AM Session -- Audition Technique (beg, int, adv teens)*
Students will work with instructor on how to prepare for a professional audition. Class will include voice coaching and help with song selection and preparation. All aspects of the auditioning process will be broken down in this two week course designed to help you gain more confidence, be memorable and get more callbacks. This class will also include a segment on dance auditions.PM Session -- Monologue Study (int, adv students of all ages)*
The goal of this two week course is to provide the actor with two contemporary monologues, one drama one comedy, by courses end for use as future audition material. Students will work with instructor on monologue selection, research, script analysis and will work one on one with the instructor in a master class setting with fellow students. You will have an opportunity to get feedback from several guest artists from the Portland theatre community.
SESSION 4: August 15-26, Monday thru Friday
AM Session -- Musical Theatre Workshop--Jason Robert Brown's "13" (ages 11-15)
PM Session -- Shakespeare Plunge (ages 10-18)
Students will work on scenes and monologues from Shakespeare’s greatest plays. This two week course will focus on personalizing the action, demystifying the words and illuminating the ideas within the text in order to help students achieve the ease required to speak Shakespeare’s words as readily as modern text.
*Students are encouraged to take both classes together, as they complement each other well.
